Practical School Of Evangelism

Practical Evangelism Class

The goal of this class is to train you to be an effective soul winner. It will be the most challenging Bible class in which you will ever participate.

The class takes approximately two full years to complete. During the class you will be given instruction in how to use the Jule Miller video series; you will be trained thoroughly in the use of the Open Bible Study and the Ivan Stewart techniques of evangelism; you will be taught how to talk with others about the Bible using these Bible study techniques.

By taking this class you will enter into an area of Christian service that will change your life forever. You will go on an adventure that will help you take your soul and the souls of many others to a final reward in heaven.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a certificate from the Cold Harbor Road church of Christ, Practical School of Evangelism, in "Practical Evangelism."


Course Objectives

1. To analyze your present evangelism skills.
2. To learn new skills and teaching techniques.
3. To change present habits and build confidence.
4. To build courage in talking with others about Bible Study.
5. To overcome fear of failure.
6. To equip you to be self perpetuating, i.e., train others.
7. To explore varied ways to participate in evangelism.
8. To help you to become a better communicator.


Methodologies

1. You will read textbooks and other materials.
2. You will become an expert in using the Jule Miller video tape series.
3. You will learn how to do critical introspect.
4. You will be involved in actual Bible studies.
5. You will enlist others to conduct Bible studies with you.
6. You will write relevant papers.
7. You will become an expert in using the Ivan Stewart/Leon Estep OBS lessons.
8. You will be introduced to other pertinent soul winning Bible study programs.

The course offers three option levels of course work:

  • Full and Complete: the student will participate in all required work which includes reading assignments, written assignments, and exams. Upon successful completion, the student will be awarded a certificate of completion.
  • Audit: the student will not participate in testing and written assignments. The student will become familiarized with the techniques of practical evangelism and participate in field assignments. Upon successful completion, the student will be awarded a certificate of audit.
  • Helping Partner: the student will participate in the full curriculum including the assigned field work, but excluding any written assignments or testing. Upon successful completion, the student will be awarded a certificate of completion as a Helping Partner.
